Dearest Laurel Springs Families,
It is a pleasure to share this Thanksgiving season with you. We are thankful to have families from more than 90 countries actively participating in our global community of learners. Imagining the many ways you celebrate this special time of the year is heartwarming.
As the holiday season approaches, I pause to reflect on my own family’s traditions during this time of year. My family is quite large and has grown to include grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a new great-niece. Our Thanksgiving traditions started over 45 years ago when our then small group gathered at “Grandma’s” house for a family dinner. We are now comprised of 36 members and “Grandma” is 95 years old! As a way to capture our special memories, some of the aunts have even created keepsake collages with an array of photos of our family, documenting our time together over the past 74 years!
In its own special way, Laurel Springs School is like a family. It is a caring community, which affords students the opportunity to make friends from around the world; a school that is innovative, supportive, and helps fulfill the dreams and potential of our children. We are grateful to have you as part of our learning community. Your traditions are important to us and we would love to hear how you give thanks during this special time of the year. Please share your family’s Thanksgiving traditions with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our entire school community wishes you a beautiful Thanksgiving.
We appreciate you.
