Dear Laurel Springs’ Parents and Guardians,
I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes for a happy holiday season. When I began thinking about what I wanted to say to you in this holiday message, I was driving in my car slowly making my way home, stuck in an unexpected snowstorm the week before Thanksgiving. As I flipped through the radio stations, I landed on the Hallmark Holiday channel. I’m not someone who typically jumps ahead and listens to holiday music too early, but it seemed appropriate as I made my way through a literal winter wonderland. A warm holiday feeling came over me as I sat there listening to classic songs like “Deck the Halls” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” It was when Perry Como’s “There’s No Place Like Home For the Holidays” came on that I began to think about all of our school’s families.
Laurel Springs’ families come from all 50 states and over 90 countries around the world – what an amazing global community we have! As my mind wandered, I imagined how all of our families would be celebrating their different holidays in their homes or wherever they found themselves traveling this holiday season. Our diverse community represents a multitude of cultures and participates in a wide variety of holiday traditions, ranging from Diwali in November to Chinese New Year in February. Regardless of how your family celebrates, my wish for you is to spend time with friends and family and to always remember that your second home, Laurel Springs School, is here for you to support you and your child along their academic journey.
I hope that Laurel Springs has provided a welcoming place for your child to grow and flourish as a student in our community of learners. Many parents have shared with me over the years that making the courageous move to LSS has made a significant impact on their family life. Whether you chose our program for its flexibility in scheduling or for personalized learning that meets your child’s needs, you have chosen a school community that spans the globe. To ensure that you enjoy all that Laurel Springs has to offer, I highly recommend that you too participate by getting involved in our community. Become a Parent Ambassador, go on a field trip, or join one of our regional Facebook groups.
If you have not yet made Laurel Springs your home through all that we offer as a school, we welcome you to participate in our dynamic community. There’s no place like home for the holidays, and there is no place like Laurel Springs School. Thank you for choosing Laurel Springs.
Warmest wishes this holiday season,
Megan O’Reilly Palevich
