Meet the LSS Counseling Team: Managers
Every great counseling program has great leaders who help support and guide their department. Like all members of our counseling team, our managers are experts in their field and excellent resources for their peers, Laurel Springs students, and alumni to consult and rely on. Meet our managers who build relationships within our community and industry to foster meaningful opportunities for the development, growth, and success of those they oversee and counsel.
Counseling Manager Deena Paradiso has over 20 years experience as a K-12 School Counselor. She holds master’s degrees in School Counseling and School Building Leadership. Prior to her employment with Laurel Springs, she was the Director of College Counseling at a private school in South Carolina. Before she and her family moved to South Carolina in 2014, Ms. Paradiso lived and worked as a School Counselor in Scarsdale, New York. She has extensive experience working with students and their families, guiding them through the college admissions process and counseling middle school students. Ms. Paradiso loves to travel and experience new cultures. She enjoys cooking and walking along the beach by her home. As a native New Yorker, she frequently travels to New York City to visit family and friends, catch a Broadway show, and, of course, attend one or two Yankees games.
College and Alumni Relations Manager Alyssa Polakowski earned both her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her master’s degree in K-12 School Counseling from West Chester University. With 10 years in the field of counseling, she has had various experiences serving students in multiple grade levels with an emphasis on college and career planning. She enjoys forming meaningful relationships with Laurel Springs students and alumni and seeing their academic development and personal success. Leading the Laurel Springs’ Alumni Association, Ms. Polakowski stays connected with graduates as they continue to pursue their goals and leave their marks on our global community. A New Jersey native, Ms. Polakowski is a yoga enthusiast who also loves biking, skiing, cooking, and dedicating her time as a volunteer for the WCU Alumni Association.
