Lara Johannson
9th GradeLara Johannson, Laurel Springs student, has a passion for professional film acting, dance, and music. She is currently taking piano lessons and also plays the violin and flute. In addition to being a very creative and talented person, Lara is a hardworking and high achieving student. She earned straight A’s in 8th grade and has an A average in her current 9th grade courses. She is challenging herself by taking Honors level courses, and is currently on pace to finish her first semester work earlier than expected.
We interviewed Lara’s school counselor, John Drucis, who had this to say about her: “Lara is driven to succeed, enthusiastically dedicated to her passions, and is eager to continue studying the subjects that she loves. I strongly believe that Lara will be successful in anything she puts her mind to! I look forward to working with her throughout her time at Laurel Springs and anticipate great achievements both inside and outside of high school.”
Along with her pursuits in acting, dance, and music, Lara has recently competed in a pageant, and was crowned the new Miss Jr. Teen Golden State! She was given several awards including the Academic Achievement Award and the Go Getter Award. On her quest to participate in this pageant, Lara has handled the challenge of balancing a vigorous academic schedule along with participating in several school activities including: French Club, Debate Club, and Film/Theatre Club.
Of her experiences, Lara says, “None of this would have been possible if I had not set a goal, gone out there, and strived for what I wanted. I believe that you definitely will not succeed if you do not try. As a Laurel Springs student I am thrilled that my schedule is flexible enough that I can promote my literacy platform by attending multiple events and volunteering at my local library throughout my year. To top it all off, I am very excited to announce that I will be competing at nationals!”
Congratulations Lara on all of your accomplishments. We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what your bright future has in store for you.
