Crafting Your Story: A College Essay Writing Workshop

Session: July 15-19; 1-3 pm ET

The one-week College Essay Writing Workshop is a collaborative effort between College Counselors and an experienced English teacher, enriched with valuable insights from a college admissions representative.

Through a combination of synchronous activities and asynchronous lessons and tasks, this workshop aims to guide rising high school seniors through the intricate process of creating a compelling and authentic college admissions essay. By providing expert advice, hands-on activities, and one-on-one coaching opportunities, participants will gain a deeper understanding of what colleges look for in an essay, learn to select meaningful topics, and master the art of drafting a standout essay.

To maximize their experience, students should expect to put in approximately 60-90 minutes of work each day outside of the required synchronous meeting times. This course is open to full-time and part-time students graduating in the class of 2025, and is a non-credit bearing, non-graded course that will not appear on a transcript.
