6th Grade Math is designed to provide students with a pedagogically sound math program. Each lesson is created so that students have multiple opportunities to practice the concepts and skills introduced. During this course, students will connect ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division and use concepts of ratio and rate to solve problems. They will gain an understanding of division of fractions and extend the concept to the system of rational numbers, which includes negative numbers and mixed numbers. Students will write, interpret, and use expressions and equations throughout the course. Last, they will develop an understanding of statistical thinking.
