Laurel Springs Parent Resources

12/22/20

Laurel Springs ParentsIt may take a village to raise a child, but it takes an entire community to educate one. Parents shouldn’t have to feel like they’re alone, especially when their child is learning at home. It may look like it’s just you and your kid sitting at the table, trying to figure out math, grammar, and science experiments. But there’s a whole world out there with other parents just like you. Community Connections at Laurel Springs is one place to meet them.

Community Connections Event

Every month, Laurel Springs parents gather virtually to share their experiences and offer each other support for navigating online school. Many parents have questions. How do you make it work? How do you juggle schedules? When are the kids socializing? This event is where you can ask other Laurel Springs parents how they’re handling it all and gain insight into the daily life of families just like yours.

Community Connections events take place on the third Tuesday of every month at 11:00 am ET | 8:00 am PT.  Parents of full-time students receive an email invitation in advance of each event.

Regional Facebook Groups

Another way parents can connect and socialize is through the various Laurel Springs regional Facebook groups. Meet and greet area families and feel the community get a little closer when you know there are Laurel Springs students right around the corner. These groups are a great way to learn about what’s happening closer to home. Whether you reach out virtually or in-person, it’s nice to know someone has your back, right in your own backyard. LSS parents can contact testimonials@laurelsprings.com or send a direct Facebook message requesting access to our Regional Groups.

Laurel Springs Parent Ambassador Program

They’ve been through what you’re going through, and they’re ready to help. The Parent Ambassadors are a group of Laurel Springs parents who are willing and able to answer questions, swap stories, and share tips on how to navigate this new online learning process. They come from all over the world, have students enrolled in various grade levels, and are involved in a variety of extracurricular activities. The one thing they all have in common: they’re proud to be a part of the Laurel Springs community.
