Elementary School Summer Catalog

Laurel Springs offers a wonderful variety of week-long virtual summer camps for our younger learners – offering them a chance to explore STEM challenges, dig into LEGO® or Minecraft®, or explore learning through art, space, and food. These camps are led by experienced Laurel Springs teachers and allow our younger students to connect with grade-level peers from across the world.

For rising 5th-grade students who want to get a head start on their math curriculum, we offer an asynchronous 5th-grade Math Course that enables students to independently complete a full semester of coursework in 4 weeks or a full year of math in 8 weeks.

No matter their interests or dreams, we know your elementary learner will discover something that excites them in our summer programming, and we can’t wait to welcome them!

    Elementary School Offerings

    • 5th Grade Math

This asynchronous, research-based course focuses on computational fluency, conceptual understanding, and problem solving. This interactive course features new graphics, learning tools, and games; adaptive activities that help struggling students master concepts and skills before moving on. This course builds on student understanding of numbers and operations by making connections between place value, decimals, and fractions; introducing multiplication and division of decimal numbers; and extending understanding of fraction operations. The course enhances fluency of operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals through application in the solving of measurement, geometry, and data-analysis problems using mathematical problem-solving techniques. Students continue to develop algebraic thinking as they work with variables and formulas to solve multistep word problems, they further study patterns and rules, and they are introduced to representing problems graphically using the coordinate plane.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of 4th grade math or equivalent

      4 Week Cost (Semester): $900

8 Week Cost (Full Year): $1,300
