Events

We take pride in ensuring our students are involved in both their academic studies and the broader school community. Every K-12 student is offered virtual and in-person opportunities to bond through events like meet-ups, field trips, immersive travel learning experiences, and more.

Field Trips

Our field trips are full-day, in-person events where students and families join staff for visits to museums, amusement parks, and more! Regional trips typically cost less than$100 per person. This covers all activities, fun school swag and surprises throughout the day.

Upcoming 2025-26 Field Trips:

  • Asheville, NC
  • New Haven, Connecticut
  • Quebec City, Canada
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Kansas City, MS/KS
  • San Antonio, TX
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • Savannah, GA
  • New York, NY
  • And more

Virtual Field Trips

K-5 students can also enjoy virtual field trips to destinations like Indonesian Temples, Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk, and Komodo National Park.

Travel Learning

Our travel learning trips are reserved for high school students. These events center around historical events and leadership.

Coming up:

  • London/Paris trip through Normandy – February 2026
  • Japan Culture and Business – March 2026

Meet-Ups

Meet-ups, or “Recesses,” are free, partial-day gatherings around the country that help students and families connect! Most meet-ups follow a regional field trip, so families can easily make these into two-day excursions.
Contact us about hosting a Recess in your city or town!

Back-to-School Meet-ups

Our families help host back-to-school meet-ups August through October. These fun events get kids excited for the new school year! Each meet-up is hosted by staff and parent representatives.

Year-End Celebration

At the end of each traditional academic school year, Laurel Springs hosts a multi-day Year-End Celebration for students and their families, from Kindergarten to graduates. This event is a favorite of both staff and families as it brings everyone together to celebrate our students’ achievements through special events including:

  • Student Socials
  • Graduation Night for Seniors
  • Fun Field Trips for K-11 Students
  • Hybrid Graduation (in person and virtual)
  • Senior and Alumni Brunch
  • Prom
  • Parent Social

Many students and their families travel from across the country (and world!) to participate in this unique celebration, making it a truly memorable experience.

Online Clubs and Hangouts

At Laurel Springs, students can explore and discover their passions through more than 30 online clubs. These clubs meet regularly in virtual classrooms, providing a relaxed and enjoyable environment where students can connect with peers who share similar interests.
Sponsored by faculty or staff members who are equally passionate about the topics, our clubs foster deeper relationships, collaboration, and social interaction among students.
Additionally, Laurel Springs offers a robust Student Government and Student Ambassador Program, both designed to enhance leadership skills throughout the high school years.
