Fourth grade students will focus on computational fluency, conceptual understanding, and problem solving in this foundational course. They will learn addition and subtraction with fractions and decimals and will use multiplication and division to solve problems involving numbers up to the thousands place.

Students will learn the names of various addition and multiplication properties, as well as receiving an introduction to formal geometry by learning more about geometry terms and how to measure an angle. Students will also begin to learn algebraic ideas including the idea of a variable and how to use it to solve problems, setting them up for what’s to come in the next step of their math education.

Prerequisites: This course is designed for Laurel Springs students in grade 4.
