MS Animation is ideal for creative young minds with a fascination for using computers to create original art! Students will briefly learn the fascinating origins of animation, dating all the way back to the 1800s. They will familiarize themselves with the 12 principles of animation, originally developed by Disney animators and now considered the golden standard of animation techniques.

Students will also begin to explore and practice using various editing tools within Blockbench, a 3D modeling, texturing, and animation application used by Mojang to model and animate Minecraft mobs. After brainstorming character development, students will then use Blockbench to create their own unique character. Once students sculpt and edit their characters, they will be ready for rendering. Using Maximo, students will have the chance to create their own GIF animation and bring their character to life!
