AP® French Language & Culture
Gain a deeper understanding of French Language and Culture in this AP® course designed for students with several years of French study experience. This course is organized around the integrated themes and developed in conjunction with the College Board’s recommended contexts for each theme.
Rather than simply learning about the French Language, students can use the genuine sources and materials provided during this course to experience real-world issues through the French Language. Pre- and post-reading and listening activities guide students to promote a deeper understanding of culture, especially through cultural comparisons within the francophone world and with students’ own life experiences. This course provides additional exam preparation through the inclusion of many activities that mimic the exam format.
While there are no prerequisites for this course, students are typically in their fourth year of high-school level study. Native or heritage speakers may have a different pathway of study before starting this course.
