What types of academic accommodations does Laurel Springs provide?

All Laurel Springs students are able to take advantage of typical academic accommodations, such as extra time on assignments or reduced distraction environments, because they can complete their school work at any time of day, in any location, and at their own pace. Any additional support is determined on an individual basis by our Student Support Manager in consultation with a student’s family. Laurel Springs strives to meet each student where they are and design supports that will work best for them in the context of an online, asynchronous program.

Does Laurel Springs support neurodivergent students?

Absolutely. Every student is unique, but many neurodivergent students thrive at Laurel Springs because they have more control over how, when, and where they do their schoolwork. Our neurodivergent students also have access to their choice of virtual social activities, clubs, honors societies, and competition programs based on their interests and preferences.

Does Laurel Springs follow 504 or IEP plans?

As a private online high school, Laurel Springs School does not engage in the 504 or IEP process typically followed in public school systems. A student with a current IEP or 504 Plan will be evaluated by our Student Support Manager to determine the appropriate accommodations and supports required for success in the Laurel Springs environment, which may include an invitation to join the IMPACT program.

Can my student work with an external consultant?

Yes. Our Student Support Manager and counselors partner with families and any needed consultants to support student success.

What is the IMPACT program at Laurel Springs Online High School?

The IMPACT program is designed to serve online high school students who need an extra layer of individualized academic or organizational support beyond what our full-time program already provides. Our goal is to ensure that these students have the support they need to foster, inquiry, growth, mastery, purpose, and independence.

What level of support do students receive in the IMPACT program?

Full-time tuition at Laurel Springs online high school already includes evaluation and assessment of academic needs, accommodation plans if required, and individualized learning support from teachers and counselors.

The IMPACT program adds the option of three increasing levels of weekly 1:1 support from one of our Learning Support Specialists, who work with each student and family to design a plan tailored to that specific student’s needs, including:

Creating a Learning Support Plan
Setting SMART Goal(s) to track progress
Monthly progress monitoring checks on SMART goal(s)
Mathematics, English and Executive Functioning Support

Who is eligible for the IMPACT program?

The IMPACT program is open to online high school students who enroll full-time at Laurel Springs and are identified by our Student Support team as needing additional support beyond that already provided by our main program.

IMPACT Program Fees
