Yes. As a fully accredited online school, Laurel Springs’ high school program is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Cognia.

Curriculum quality varies widely among online schools, particularly in whether courses are developed in-house or licensed from a third-party vendor. As a self-paced online high school, Laurel Springs uses its own proprietary college-preparatory curriculum, developed and managed by Laurel Springs faculty and curriculum specialists. This allows every course to be built around mastery-based learning and academic placement, with the specialized, high-touch instruction that distinguishes a faculty-authored curriculum from an off-the-shelf one.

Parents and guardians play an essential partnership role in supporting their child’s academic and social experience at Laurel Springs. To support student success in online learning, we ask parents/guardians to assist students with designing and adjusting their daily and weekly learning schedules, check on course progress regularly through their Observer accounts, and encourage their students to participate in social activities and connect with teachers and counselors on a regular basis. As students move closer to graduation, college, and beyond, parents can play a key role in encouraging their students to become independent, self-confident learners with solid time management and communication skills.
